Children and Youth

Provides nurture and education for children and youth (infants through high school age) by offering Sunday school classes, Vacation Bible School, and family events.

Sunday School
Classes for children and youth begin the school year in September.

2 year-olds through 6th graders - learn Bible stories about the Bible and how to apply Biblical lessons to daily life using the Witness curriculum.
Jr. High Students - explore how to live a Christian life today through conversation and videos using the Videos that Teach series.
Sr. High Students - study the bible and discuss current issues concerning the faith journey and growth as Christian disciples.
Confirmation - offered for youth 8th grade and older who seek a greater understanding about God, our Presbyterian heritage, and church membership. At the conclusion of the confirmation class, youth have the opportunity to meet with the Session and join the church as full members.
Seasonal - The annual Christmas Pageant will take place on a Sunday morning in December and Vacation Bible School is offered in July.

Youth Fellowship (youth in grades 7-12)
During the program year, FPC's Youth Ministry Council (made of youth and adults) provides:

  • Weekly youth gatherings with dinner, Bible study and reflection
  • One structured event per month

In addition, the Presbytery of Northern Kansas Youth Council, on which FPC members are active, offers special Fall and Spring events. During the Summer, periodic outdoor fellowship activities are organized and various weeks of summer camp are available at Heartland Camp in Parkville, MO.
In addition, FPC organizes summer experiential trips on a three-year cycle:

  • A Presbytery sponsored mission trip
  • PC(USA) Triennium at Purdue University
  • FPC-LAW, KS planned week with emphasis on service
